identify please

found in our bathroom:

there are cobras, vipers and kraits all over northern thailand. it would be a good story to have a pet king cobra living in our bathroom, but, sadly, i don't think this is one of them.

first person to identify gets our pet mongoose when we come home.

i dont think it is a cobra or a pit viper (more diamond shaped head)...and i have no idea what a banded, but as per pictures online it def doesnt seem like one of those...i think that this is some form of rat snake or something...i am no expert though so it could def be a more dangerous (read cool) snake if that is what you would prefer...

the pattern on the head says viper. the non-triangular head says it's not.

i defeated* it with a fork and an electric tennis racket.

*ran like a nancy with it to an open window.

long-nosed whip snake is your little friend. It's mildly poisonous. looks like the green pit viper but you can tell it's not because of the hue of red in the tail. YES the mongoose in MINE!

i'm not sure. the whip snakes dont seem to have those kind of head markings.. unless they'd disappear as that particular snake matures.

we'll just call it a mamba.
